Bodegas Arzuaga Ribera del Duero Gran Reserva 2020

Arzuaga Gran Reserva is a red wine made with the 95% Tempranillo, 4% Cabernet and 1% Merlot. Deep-garnet to the eye, this wine has aromas of blackberry pie, toffee and fennel bulb. Lusty tannins coat the mouth, bearing flavors of raspberry, dark chocolate, aniseed and orange zest that coalesce in a surprisingly bright finish.

Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro was set up in 1993 when the Florentino Arzuaga family bought an estate in the town of Quintanilla de Onésimo (Valladolid) to make their own wines. With the grape being one of the winery’s highest priorities, they combine tradition and experience to create world-renowned limited production wines.

Arzuaga Gran Reserva is a wine of two parts, the first, from old vines aged over 80 years old and, the second, from a small amount of young vines. They are all planted in clay-calcareous soils, and the low fertility and harsh climate in the area give the grape a spectacular concentration.
