Camins 2 Dream Gamay 2023

The 2023 Gamay is a special wine from the Portico Hills Vineyard in Los Alamos. Harvested in early September, this wine is fermented using wild yeast to bring out the grape’s unique characteristics. To enhance the wine, we also included 25% whole clusters. After fermentation, the wine is aged in neutral French oak barrels for 6 months before bottling.

The aromatics of this Gamay are a delightful blend of violet, cherry, raspberry, jalapeño, green beans, and earth. On the palate, it offers a light and refreshing experience with a harmonious mix of spice, raspberry, cherry, and earthy undertones. The finish is characterized by tart flavors of red fruits, vibrant acidity, and rounded tannins that leave you craving for another sip.

This Gamay is the perfect companion for dishes with a Mexican flair, such as salmon fajitas or veggie tacos. Its delicate nature allows it to beautifully compliment grilled fish, without overpowering its lightness. During the summer or warmer months, we suggest enjoying it slightly chilled for a refreshing red wine option to accompany your favorite BBQ meals.
