Domaine Gramenon Cotes du Rhone Sierra du Sud 2024

A pure Syrah bottling from the land of Grenache offering wild flavors of the Provençal countryside. The cool nights at elevation confer lovely freshness. Expressive floral notes like peony, wisteria, and violet, alongside fresh raspberry, tapenade, and wild Provençal herbs. The palate has a plush and velvety texture with deep purple fruit, cassis, licorice, and a touch of savory smokiness. Sensual, fine-grained tannins balanced by lively acidity and a clean, energetic finish.

Fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Grapes are partially de-stemmed. Grapes macerate for 12 days in cement tank. Wine ages in both tank and in barrique for 7 months before bottling.

Michèle Aubéry-Laurent has catapulted Domaine Gramenon into cult wine status.  Today, she works twenty-six hectares with her talented son, Maxime François (a rising star in his own right), farming both young and very old vines alike. They employ organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyards, with a strong non-interventionist stance in the cellars.
