LIOCO Rose de Carignan
From old vine Carignan that was planted in the mid 1900's and dry farmed this is one of the most beguiling roses that I have tasted in years. Balance and freshness are the name of the game with rose petals, raspberries and peach all with a lip smacking finish.
Lioco is a prominent California winery recognized as a trailblazer in the "New California Wine" movement, focusing on nuanced, lower-alcohol, and site-driven wines rather than heavy, "fruit-bomb" styles. Founded in 2005 by wine salesman Matt Licklider and sommelier Kevin O'Connor, the winery is entirely family-owned and operated by Matt and Sara Licklider. Instead of owning estate vineyards, they source fruit from exceptional, sustainably and organically farmed vineyards spanning a 400-mile stretch across Santa Cruz, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties.
