Peyrassol La Croix Organic Rosé 2025

The Commanderie de Peyrassol has been a benchmark for Provençal rosé since the Knights Templar founded the estate in the 13th century, with grapes cultivated on this site as far back as 1256. Ideally situated between Cannes and Marseille, just ten miles from the Mediterranean, the property has made wine continuously through centuries of history. Since acquiring the estate in 2001, proprietor Philippe Austury has invested heavily in its vineyards and cellars, and since 2022 the entire domaine has been certified organic. La Croix draws on fruit from Peyrassol's IGP-classified vineyards around the Coudonnier area, rounded out by sourcing from trusted organic partner growers, reflecting the estate's broader commitment to authentic, terroir-driven winemaking.

The 2025 arrives pale pink with subtle bluish highlights, following a growing season of a wet, stormy spring and two summer heatwaves that pushed harvest earlier than usual along the coast. After gentle pneumatic pressing and a brief cold settling, the wine ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel and rests briefly on fine lees before light filtration. The result is fresh and lively, with vineyard peach and white flowers on the nose, giving way to a bright, citrus-driven palate and a mouth-watering, saline finish with fine bitters for structure and lift.
