Ziereisen Talrain Blauer Spatburgunder 2021

The Pinot Noir grapes for this wine are sourced from the Talrain vineyard, situated on the lower Black Forest hills near Feuerbach, at around 500 meters (about 2,000 feet) elevation. The soils are limestone, with iron-rich clay—a terroir compared to Burgundy’s Vosne-Romanée and unique for its mineral backbone. Medium-bodied and incredibly fresh, with ripe sour-cherry and dark berry fruit carried by a silky texture, fine grained tannings and a saline-tinged, mineral finish.
