Jacques Carillon Saint Aubin 1er Cru Les Pitangerets 2024
The 2024 harvest was completed in 7 days from 14th to 20th September and includes for the first time the domaine’s Saint Aubin 1er Cru Pitangerets (a 0.44 hectare plot), a fine premier cru on the border with Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vergers that previously produced red wine. Jacques replanted it with Chardonnay in 2020 and this is the first vintage to be bottled with the domaine name.
On the nose, it is wonderfully aromatic, offering notes of white peach, citrus peel, and a delicate hint of acacia honey and crushed stones. The palate is elegant and well-structured, showing a lovely tension between the concentrated fruit and a zesty acidity. It is aged in French oak to add a subtle creamy texture without masking the natural freshness. This is a sophisticated and highly accomplished white that shows remarkable poise and length. A brilliant debut vintage
