Montepeloso Gabbro Costa Toscana 2023

The great Cabernet Sauvignon of Suvereto, Gabbro has done for this variety what Tua Rita’s Redigaffi did for Merlot. A decade from now, we would not be surprised to see Gabbro replace Sassacaia as the ultimate Tuscan Cabernet. A scant 200 cases are made.

 It features notes of dark fruit, licorice, spicebox, and blood orange, with a mineral texture, and has been praised by critics like James Suckling (95 points) and Falstaff (96 points). The wine is noted for being firm and racy, and is recommended to age for three to four years for optimal integration.
