Paysan "Old Vines" San Benito County Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Paysan Old Vines comes from two old vineyards planted in the 1960s and 1970s. The result is classic California style, steeped in redcurrant, leather, and black pepper, that displays an impressive marriage of great concentration with great acidity. It’s highly food friendly, with integrated oak and grippy but manageable tannins. 5% Petite Verdot from a nearby vineyard for a little heft.
