Claus Preisinger Puszta Libre 2024
A wild yet lively and very drinkable red wine blend from Austria that's made from Saint Laurent, Zweigelt and Pinot Noir. Delicate tannins and a vibrant red and black berried fruit character make this an excellent wine for the table. Drinks well with a slight chill.
At 22, after working in California and for Nitthaus, Claus Preisinger started his own winery near Lake Neusiedl. By 24, he was the youngest winemaker accepted to Pannobile, and since 2006, a member of the biodynamic association, Respekt. He grows indigenous grapes, but also some Merlot as "backup" and a little Pinot Noir (Burgundy is his fave) for "amusement." His winemaking style is self confidently hands-off.
