Herman Weimer Flower Day Dry Riesling 2025

This Finger Lakes dry Riesling comes from Hermann J. Wiemer, the German-born winemaker who founded his Seneca Lake estate in 1979 and helped put the region’s Riesling on the map. The 2025 is the second vintage made under Demeter biodynamic certification, sourced entirely from the estate’s HJW Vineyard on the lake’s western slopes.

Its name comes from the biodynamic calendar, where flower days are days of rest for the vineyard. Fermented with wild yeast and made without fining or adjustments, it opens with aromas of orchard fruit and chamomile. Juicy citrus and summer fruit fill the palate, starting bright and finishing riper and more textured.

A lovely aperitif, it also pairs beautifully with seafood, poultry and dark leafy greens.
