Roagna Langhe Rosso 2020 750ml

Roagna Langhe Rosso’ should be on any Nebbiolo lovers' radar. It's cut from the exact same cloth as his top wines. It’s 100% Nebbiolo from two vineyards you also see in their own bottling Paje and Pira. It’s fermented and aged exactly like the Barolo and Barbaresco (the exception being Crichet Paje) He uses capo submerso (ie a floating cap) during fermentation and then moves the wine to old barrels where it ages for five years. It's a long, patient process.

The final wine, like his Barbarescos, is gorgeous. Spiced, red fruited, powerful on the palate while still being widely aromatic. It’s of those dizzying bottles that showcases why Nebbiolo is one of the world's great grapes.
