When an estate is founded in 1673 you can hypothesize about the history that lives on in each bottle. This history plays a major role in farming because each new generation carries on techniques taught from their forefathers. With this being said, consider the region of Alsace switched its alliance multiple times between France and Germany during the World Wars. Many experts would consider the wines of Jean Boxler, the current owner and winemaker, to be some of the best in the world. For this reason, the small 5,200 case winery produces some of the most collectible items out of Alsace. The wines still bear to this day the same label designed by a Boxler cousin dating back to 1946.

This Cremant is among the best sparkling in this region. It is made into a very dry style and aged on its lees for 24-40 months imparting richness and concentration. It marries three Pinots—Noir, Blanc, and Auxerrois—spirited and complex, It’s racy, slightly toasty, and wildly three-dimensional, rich, with biscuity notes and touches of apricot and pear.
