Albert Boxler Pinot Blanc 2022
A dry Alsace white of uncommon finesse, the Albert Boxler Pinot Blanc 2022 brings the purity and precision of one of the region’s most revered estates to an approachable, everyday bottling.
Rooted in the village of Niedermorschwihr since 1673, the Boxler family first bottled wine under its own label in 1946, when Jean Boxler’s grandfather Albert gave the domaine its name. Jean took the reins in 1996 and today farms organically on steep, hand-worked granite slopes, roughly half of them classified Grand Cru across Sommerberg and Brand. His meticulous approach has made Boxler a cult name among Alsace lovers, earning top ratings from France’s leading wine guides.
Drawn from old vines between 50 and 80 years of age, this cuvée blends roughly two-thirds Auxerrois with one-third Pinot Blanc, fermented slowly with native yeasts and aged nearly a year on its lees. Bright pale yellow in the glass, it offers a refined, floral nose accented by notes of white pepper. The palate is fresh and finely textured, with ripe white fruit, a savory mineral thread, and a clean, lingering finish that reflects the ripe yet balanced 2022 vintage.
An elegant, food-friendly white that delivers grand cru craftsmanship at a remarkable price.
