Chateau Bellevue Marchand Bordeaux 2022

Château Bellevue Marchand is produced by Les Vignerons Réunis de Monségur, a Bordeaux cooperative based in Le Puy, in the Gironde. The cooperative traces back to 1936, when a handful of winegrowers from the village of Monségur banded together to pool their resources and expertise, and it has continued that collaborative tradition ever since across several distinct Bordeaux bottlings. The fruit for this cuvée comes from the eastern reaches of the Entre-deux-Mers, a historic vineyard site dating to the 17th century, where the region's classic mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot is grown on the area's characteristic clay-limestone soils.

In the glass, this Bordeaux shows a deep, brilliant purple robe. The nose is complex and inviting, with fresh red and black fruit accented by subtle spice notes and hints of blackcurrant and violet. On the palate it's firm and structured, full-bodied with lively acidity, a touch of pepper, and a persistent, elegant finish carried by a fine mineral backbone.

A lush yet structured Bordeaux blend that offers genuine Right Bank character and real ageing potential at a wonderfully approachable price.

Pairs beautifully with: roast red meats or a hearty gratin dauphinois.
