Christophe Mignon Meunier Vue sur la Vallee Extra Brut NV 750ml

A pure expression of Pinot Meunier grown on a single elevated parcel overlooking the Marne valley, the Christophe Mignon Meunier Vue sur la Vallée Extra Brut NV is a grower Champagne from one of the variety's most dedicated champions.

Christophe Mignon farms 6.3 hectares of vines in the hamlet of Le Mesnil-le-Huttier, planted by his great-grandparents and spread across thirty parcels in the Vallée de la Marne. He is credited, alongside a small handful of fellow vignerons, with elevating Meunier from Champagne's supporting grape to a variety capable of standing entirely on its own. His approach, known locally as the Mignon Method, blends biodynamics, phytotherapy, homeopathy, and geobiology, with every action in the vineyard and cellar timed to the lunar calendar. Each of his thirty parcels is vinified and aged separately in a mix of stainless steel and epoxy-lined tanks, preserving the individual character of each site, and Vue sur la Vallée draws on fruit from one such elevated plot with a clear view over the valley below.

Grown on clay and chalk soils that give Meunier its signature intensity and precision, the wine shows the variety's characteristic depth and vinosity. Expect a nose of orchard fruit and white flowers layered with subtle chalk and gentle brioche, a hallmark of Mignon's lees-aged style, carried through on a dry, focused palate with fine bubbles and bright, mineral-driven acidity. As an Extra Brut, the dosage stays low, letting the site and the grape speak with little sweetness to soften them.

It is a serious, terroir-driven Champagne from a producer who has spent two decades proving that Meunier deserves the spotlight.
