Creta Paglia Sciccu Skin Contact 2024

A minimal-intervention orange wine from Calabria, Italy, made from a blend of indigenous grapes (Guarnaccia, Guardavalle, Montonico) that are fermented on the skins and aged in concrete. It is known for its distinctive notes of Mediterranean herbs like thyme sage and rosemary along with citrus and minerality, a bright amber color, smooth tannins and a saline finish. The name 'Sciccu' means "swanky" or "elegant" in the local dialect, reflecting winemaker Antonello Canonico's goal of reviving ancient local varieties.
