Domaine Duchesne Frères sits in the heart of the Vallée des Vaux, a 27-hectare family estate whose heritage has been passed down through four generations. Winemaker David Duchesne, after the death of his brother, joined forces with longtime partner Michel Gayot to co-manage the estate from 2023, pairing tradition with innovation. The vineyards are densely planted at 8,000 to 9,000 vines per hectare and are HVE3 certified, reflecting a careful, reasoned approach to the vines, while the cellar work aims for an authentic expression of terroir.

Grown in the hills above Saint-Denis-de-Vaux on limestone and marl soils, the 2023 opens with aromas of red berries and blackcurrant. On the palate, bright red cherry and strawberry mingle with rose petal and a subtle herbal lift, supported by lively acidity and fine, silky tannins, before a clean, mineral-tinged finish that speaks to the cool, mid-slope site.
