J. Hofstätter Weissburgunder Pinot Bianco 2024
A crisp, elegant white made entirely from Pinot Bianco, the J. Hofstätter Weissburgunder Pinot Bianco 2024 comes from one of Alto Adige's benchmark estates, sourced from vineyards on light marl soils around Termeno and Cortaccia that warm quickly in spring for a clean, precise expression of the variety.
Tenuta J. Hofstätter is based in Tramin-Termeno in Alto Adige, and with fifty hectares under vine is one of the largest private wine estates in the region, with holdings spread across altitudes of 250 to 800 meters on both sides of the valley — an unusually broad range that lets the estate draw fruit from a diversity of microclimates. For this Pinot Bianco, grapes grown in east-west running rows are gently pneumatic-pressed shortly after harvest, with the must separated from sediment by natural settling before fermenting at controlled temperatures around 20°C. The wine then ages for around five to six months in stainless steel at a steady 15°C, a hands-off approach designed to preserve freshness and varietal purity rather than add weight or oak character.
The 2024 shows a clean, medium-intensity straw-yellow color, with a fragrant, elegant nose of peach, apple and pear. On the palate it's zesty and harmoniously structured, round and finely balanced, with real finesse and a subtle nutty note lingering on the finish.
It's a textbook expression of Alto Adige Pinot Bianco — precise, food-friendly, and a benchmark for the variety from one of the region's most respected producers.
