Negroamaro, whose name loosely translates to "black bitter," is grown almost exclusively in Puglia, and particularly in the Salento peninsula, where the hot, breezy climate allows the thick-skinned grape to ripen reliably and fully each year. Rocca Bella follows traditional Puglian winemaking practice, vinifying the grapes without any addition of concentrated must, letting the fruit express itself honestly.
