Rosso Fongoli 2024
Located in the heart of Montefalco, the Fongoli family has been tending to their vineyards since the early 1900s. While the estate established its reputation through traditional winemaking, the fourth generation, led by Angelo Fongoli, transitioned the property to full biodynamic and organic certification.
60% Sangiovese/40% Montepulciano. From certified-biodynamic vines, planted in 1993 on the estate's heavy clay-limestone soils. The berries are destemmed and fermented spontaneously in stainless steel tanks without temperature control or sulfur and with a 10-day maceration. The wine is aged in stainless steel and bottled without filtration or sulfur.
This vibrant red offers a rustic and energetic profile, led by high-toned cherry and wild blackberry aromas that lean into savory, earthy undertones. The palate is defined by a lively, crunchy texture and a refreshing brightness that highlights raw fruit purity and subtle smoky minerals. Its finish is clean and herbal, maintaining a wild, "zero-zero" character that thrives when the bottle is served with a light chill to accentuate its racy structure.
